The New England Patriots are heavily pursuing a wide receiver to add to the roster this off season, this time, it’s free agent wideout DeSean Jackson.
The Patriots “inquired about” free-agent wideout DeSean Jackson, “a person with knowledge of the situation” told The Washington Post. Jackson and the Washington Redskins are likely parting ways.

The Patriots reportedly also showed interest in trading for New Orleans Saints wide receiver Brandin Cooks, who has a similar skill set to Jackson’s, minus that whole age thing.
Jackson, 30, caught 56 passes for 1,005 yards with four touchdowns last season with Washington, with whom he’s played the last three seasons. He previously played six seasons with the Eagles, who selected Jackson in the second round of the 2009 NFL Draft. Jackson, who’s 5-foot-10, 175 pounds, has 498 career receptions for 8,819 yards with 46 touchdowns and 61 rushing attempts for 380 yards with three more scores.
Any one of these guys; Cooks, Jackson or Marshall, would be a nice addition to this Patriots team. This isn’t a desperation of ‘have to have’ but more so a ‘nice to have’. Jackson is 30 years old and still has plenty left in the tank. Another player I would have no problem if he was signed.
