Earlier this morning it was reported by Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer that both Tom’s missing Super Bowl 49 AND Super Bowl 51 jerseys were found on ‘foreign soil’.
The NFL has just released a statement on the findings from their investigation:
“Through the cooperation of the NFL and New England Patriots’ security teams, the FBI and other law enforcement authorities, the Super Bowl LI jersey worn last month by MVP Tom Brady has been recovered. Also retrieved during the ongoing investigation was the jersey Brady wore in the Patriots’ victory in Super Bowl XLIX against the Seattle Seahawks in 2015. The items were found in the possession of a credentialed member of the international media. Due to the ongoing investigation, we would refer any additional questions to the FBI.”
So an international media member stole the jerseys, both of them. Insane. Meanwhile we can only get credentialed for the preseason, but some international media member has access to the biggest game on the planet. Sounds like par for the course for the NFL. It’s great that Tom is getting both jerseys back, I would love to hear the story as to how exactly they were found. My guess is this fool bragged about having them and someone turned them in.
Glad these are being returned, what a sick feeling that must have been that two iconic game jerseys were gone. They’re coming home!
