New England Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler is set to meet with the New Orleans Saints this Thursday according to report.

The Saints have been in heavy pursuit to acquire Butler but couldn’t get it done with the Cooks trade. It’s possible that they are now going to move Butler in a deal that will send some draft picks back to New England.
The Saints have the 11th pick in the draft, that most likely is off the table for Butler, which is why they wouldn’t sign him to an offer sheet as the Saints would have to send that #11 to the Patriots, but what could be in play is the 32nd pick (that the actually acquired for Cooks) and perhaps also the #42 picks. A 2nd and 3rd round pick could get this deal done.
You have to wonder why no teams out there are signing Butler to an offer sheet, Butler seems like he could be retained for the $3.91 offer sheet the Patriots signed him to. Of course there is the chance that he could hold out. It really makes you wonder what’s going on with Butler. After all, Chandler Jones and Jamie Collins got traded..
