This is the most preposterous thing I have ever heard. This morning on WEEI’s Kirk & Callahan, Adam Schefter went on the air and discussed all things Garoppolo.
According to Schefter, if the Patriots trade Garoppolo and Brady were to get hurt, they would essentially be the Cleveland Browns:
"If the Patriots trade Jimmy Garoppolo and Tom Brady gets injured they would be the Cleveland Browns" @AdamSchefter

First of all, Jacoby Brissett won just as many games as the Cleveland Browns last year in 2 games. Jimmy Garoppolo won more games than the Browns last year in 2 starts. Can someone remind me of the Patriots record back in 2008? 11-5 with Matt Cassel. Would the product of the Patriots offense decline if Brady were to go down, of course it would. Would the Patriots be a 1 or 2 win team without Brady? No chance at all. Without Brady (a thought that gives me the heebie jeebies), the Patriots are still a playoff team just because this coaching staff is too damn good.
Not having Garoppolo in the wing waiting should something happen to Brady doesn’t give me a good feeling, which I why I personally don’t want to see Jimmy go. I think Jimmy is the future, he’s just in a tough spot and because Brady’s going to play until he’s in his mid 40’s, the timing just isn’t right. Jimmy is Mr. Right and not Mr. right now…
As for Schefter, I don’t really know what crawled up his butt this morning, but clearly he’s angry about something…
