NHL.com – On Tuesday, Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney issued the following update on defenseman Charlie McAvoy :
“Charlie sustained a sprain of his left MCL and will be re-evaluated in four weeks. The injury occurred on March 3 in the first period of the Bruins game against the Montreal Canadiens at TD Garden.”

All things considered, McAvoy got lucky and avoided a serious injury. 4 weeks time will still potentially set up a return in April for a playoff run. At this point, shut him down and get him ready for the playoffs if he is able to return.
